In 2012, the City of Thibodaux wanted to modernize its codes to develop in line with its residents' desires. Land use, zoning, community character, and parking were all issues the city needed to address.

CPEX facilitated a process for developing a vision and code update that engaged the public in forming a common development vision, which informed updates to the land use map, zoning ordinance, and subdivision regulations.

CPEX reviewed existing plans and regulations, interviewed community stakeholders, conducted a city-wide visioning activity, created a vision document, and worked with code consultant Villavaso & Associates to update the land use map, zoning ordinance, and subdivision regulations. After public vetting, the updates were adopted by the Thibodaux City Council in October 2014.

Updated map and regulations that reflect residents' vision for their community and allow development to implement that vision.
