Access to the benefits of renewable energy is key to the future of Louisiana communities – but progress doesn’t happen without a plan. Louisiana has the people and know-how to lead the energy economy, and federal funds are available now to help build the infrastructure we need to expand our energy portfolio – but without engagement and action in the interest of community needs, we can’t seize this opportunity to create a clean energy economy that works for all.
We have developed a three-year renewable energy initiative designed to ensure that Louisiana communities don’t miss out. Through this initiative, we will:
Work with communities to ensure that they have a seat at the table as infrastructure and policy decisions are made that will impact their future.
Connect state and local officials with the expertise they need to make informed decisions.
Develop informed and inclusive policy supporting the buildout of renewable energy infrastructure and markets in a way that empowers and benefits local communities.
Build capacity at the state level to identify and secure the resources needed to expand renewable energy in Louisiana.
Louisiana has a chance to rethink what it means to be an energy state by prioritizing its people, businesses, and natural resources.
We’ve successfully raised more than 80% of the funds needed to support this effort, and are seeking to close the gap on this $3-million, three-year initiative. Thanks to a generous donor, every dollar you give up to $100,000 will be matched, dollar for dollar.
