Monica Passeno

Membership Coordinator

In her capacity as Membership Coordinator, Monica is responsible for executing and expanding CPEX's Membership initiative.

Monica relocated to Baton Rouge from Massachusetts and is eager to use her extensive skill set here in Louisiana. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. Monica possesses expertise in community development, neighborhood planning, municipal engagement, collaborative negotiation, grant management, and program design.

Monica's most recent role was with the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency, where she led planning initiatives focused on local municipalities, including overseeing technical assistance grants. She worked closely with communities to plan and implement projects aimed at fostering housing and economic development in distressed areas, with a particular focus on affordable housing initiatives. Additionally, Monica served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, where she provided municipalities with legal guidance on addressing health and safety issues related to vacant and abandoned properties.

Outside of work, Monica enjoys spending time with her family, running, travelling, reading, and exploring the diverse culture and offerings of Louisiana.
