Erin Hansen
Renewable Energy Manager
Erin Hansen is assisting CPEX in developing policy initiatives to bring more reliable, affordable, and renewable electricity to Louisiana. Her focus is supporting community solar and battery project development around the state. She joined CPEX in 2025.
Erin brings several years of experience developing policy to support community-led grid resilience, energy efficiency, and community solar implementation in Louisiana. She played a key role in developing the Community Lighthouse program, which equipped a network of non-profit institutions including churches, community health clinics, union halls and other organizations with solar panels and backup batteries to serve as community resilience hubs. She also took point on advancing smarter energy efficiency and community solar policy for the largest grassroots organization in Louisiana.
Before pivoting to renewable energy, Erin was a Physical Therapist Assistant, and she served on the faculty for the PTA program at Delgado Community College. She also has professional experience in finance and investment banking as an analyst for a leading high yield credit investment firm. Erin earned her B.A. in East Asian Studies from Middlebury College, and she holds a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems from the University of New Orleans.
Fun Facts: Erin loves the outdoors and is an avid rock climber, trail runner, hiker, biker and gardener. She plays snare drum in a Brazilian parading band and sings in her church choir.
